There might be various reasons why you may want to change name on Twitter. However, whatever is the reason, this is a very simple process and can be done in just seconds.
Twitter username and display name are not the same things. Your username is your unique Twitter handle, the name that appears in your profile URL and allows you to log in, reply to tweets, and direct message others (it’s the name that follows the @ symbol).
Your display name, on the other hand, appears above your username on your profile page and is likely the name that most users will recognize you by.
Change Your Twitter Username on desktop
1- Launch your favorite web browser and sign into Twitter.
2- Click on your profile photo (or the person icon, if you have no photo) and then click “Settings and privacy“.
3- Under the Account section, type a new username in the Username text field. Your username must be unique. Twitter checks your username as you type it, letting you know if it’s already been taken.
5) Scroll down and click on the blue Save changes button.
6) Twitter asks you to enter your password to verify your identity.
7) Enter your Twitter password on the “Save account changes” dialog box and click “Save changes“.
Twitter should now show you that your changes have been saved:
And that’s all there is to it!
