Quick Access is one of the several features introduced with Windows 10. it helps users by listing links of the most frequently accessed files and folders. Many people don’t like the Quick Access view in File Explorer and they want to restore previous default view in File Explorer which shows list of drives. you may want to disable the Quick Access feature in order to give File Explorer a much cleaner look.
How to Remove Quick Access Icon from File Explorer in Windows 10
Method 1:
1- Just download the quick_access_icon.rar file (at the end of the page).
2- Open it, and double click the quick_access_icon.vbe file it file it contains. Confirm the User Account Control dialog if prompted.
3- “File Explorer Quick Access Icon has been removed” Click ok button.
Close all File Explorer windows and then re-open File Explorer.
Tips: First click will File Explorer Quick Access Icon has been removed . Second click will File Explorer Quick Access Icon has been added.
Method 2:
Open Windows Explorer At “This PC” Instead Of Quick Access
Method 3:
1- Open Registry Editor.
2- Now go to following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
In right-side pane, right-click and select New -> DWORD option. Set its name as HubMode and change its value to 1
That’s all. Close all File Explorer windows and then re-open File Explorer. You’ll notice that Quick Access icon has disappeared from Navigation Pane. Alternatively, you can restart the Explorer shell.
