Open Windows Explorer at Downloads Instead of Quick Access

Windows 10 users may have noticed that by default, File Explorer opens to Quick Access. If you’d rather have the old “This PC” view back, this link click

Now in this post I’ll show you how to change the default folder from Quick Access to “downloads” when opening Explorer. If you are running Windows 10 and want to change the default behavior of Windows File Explorer, you may follow the steps below.

1- Go to your Run command, then type in “regedit” then click OK.

2- In Registry Editor, navigate to the follow ing path:

3- In the right pane of Advanced key, double-click on LaunchTo to modify its value data.

4- Enter 3 into the Value data box and click OK. Close the Registry Editor. The next time you launch File Explorer, it will be the Downloads page.

The setting is instant and you don’t need to restart Windows Explorer for the setting to take effect.

Note that after setting the value data to 3, drop-down box in the Folder Options dialog would appear like this.
