Notepad is a commonly used office application. One of most requested feature in Windows is the dark mode support for Notepad application. Microsoft has worked on this feature and implemented the dark mode for Notepad application. If you are a regular user of the Notepad app, switching to dark mode will make the experience easier on the eyes when using it in the late hours. Here is how to do it.
How to Enable Dark Mode in Notepad on Windows 11
Fire up Notepad by searching for it in Start or type “notepad” in the Run dialog and press enter. Firstly, ensure you are using the latest Notepad app version. After launching the Notepad app click the Settings button (the gear icon) on the top right corner.
Click the App theme button to expand its settings.
You can see Use system setting is selected by default. “Use system settings” option, Notepad will automatically switch between dark mode and light mode depending on the system-wide setting in the Settings app.
Simply select the Dark option to turn on the dark mode for Notepad only.
If you want to disable Notepad dark mode on Windows 11, you need to select Light.
