Every day you download dozens of files from the internet between music, PDF, video and much more and there are times you may want to designate your downloads to a different location or folder. let’s say your hard drive is full and you want Chrome to save that large file to an external hard drive. In such cases, you’ll want to choose a different download location.

Open up the Chrome Browser on your computer. Copy and paste this text

chrome://settings/

downloads in the address bar and hit enter.

Optional: If you manually want to open this settings then Click the dotted icon top-right corner. Select Settings option from the menu.

Then click on the “Change” button located next to the default location of the current downloads folder.

Browse to and select the folder (or create a new folder) you want to be the default download location of Chrome downloads.

Also, under the download section, you could also make Chrome ask where to save each file before downloading. But, if you want to make a permanent change for the saved file location every time before download, then keep it turn off .
