How to install a NVME M.2 SSD Step-by-step!
SSD are costly compared to hard disk drives (HDDs), but the performance boost you receive makes up for it. Generally, the SSD installation process is the same for all the Acer Aspire A315 Laptops series. However, some Acer Aspire A315 series laptops will just have a single M.2 port where an M.2 NVMe or M.2 SATA SSD will already be placed. However, some Acer laptops a supports M2.SATA SSD or a M.2 NVMe SSD both.
Note the notches on the SSD and the corresponding nub/s in the slot. Certain M.2 drives have a single notch on either the right side or left side of the module, which indicates a B or M key drive, respectively.
A B key means it can operate at up to x2 PCIe or in SATA; an M key means it can operate at up to x4 PCIe or SATA.
How to install an NVME M.2 SSD
Start unscrewing the screws using a compatible screwdriver. Remove the cover of the RAM and Remove the cover of the HDD and unpin it from the connector. Remove the back cover of the laptop.
The slot for the M.2 drive is right next to the RAM. You’ll need to remove the screw before you mount the drive.
Insert the NVME M.2 SSD at the slot with a 45 degree angle.
And install the screw back into the mount while holding the drive flat.
Reassemble your laptop and boot into Windows or open the pc and Press Windows key + R keys simultaneously to open the Run Dialog. Enter diskmgmt.msc and hit enter to open Disk Management. Inside the disk management menu, check your installed M.2 SSD.
