In this article we will explain how to change the background color and foreground color in Notepad++.
Notepad++ is one of the most popular free text editor. The user interface is neat and clean, The foreground color is black and the background is white. Some of you may not like it and want to change this. For example; find the white background too hard on your eyes, you can change it to black (or blue or grey or anything else).
Change Notepad++ Background Color in Windows
In Notepad++ the foreground color and background colors are controlled by the built-in Style Configurator. This option is found under Settings > Style Configurator.
In the Language field, select Global Styles. In the Style field, select Default Style. Finally, in the Color Style field, select the new background color that you wish to apply.
It is important to tick the boxes under the color selection to make it override all language-specific settings. Then click “Save & Close”.
Notes:
For only override the background color, “Enable global foreground color” unchecked, so that language-specific text color settings still apply.
Notepad++ has numerous themes which you can select in a dropdown box in the Style Configurator window. Also, you can of course further customize any of the themes or (if you have too much free time) create your own.
