Creating an invisible folder (unnamed folder with transparent icon) is easy and fun in Windows 10. Using this trick, you can create a folder without a name. Although Invisible folder is not a high security measure but it can save your data from the prying eyes of your friends and family. By invisible folder, I mean an invisible folder, not a hidden folder. In this article I’m going to show how to create a magic file without a name and without an icon.
How to create a Folder without any name and icon in Windows OS?
1- Create a new folder or select any file or folder whose name you want to remove or change its name as a blank space.
2- Right click on it and choose rename or simply press F2 from keyboard to rename that file or folder.
3. Press and hold the Alt key. While holding the Alt key, type numbers 0160(or 999999999 or 255) from the numpad. After doing this, the folder will exist without a name. Now press Enter or click anywhere on the desktop.
Note: Your computer needs to have a Numeric keyboard pad. In case What is Numeric keypad or NumPad? Numeric keypad or NumPad is the section of the keyboard on the right side, which usually contains 17 keys, viz. 0 to 9, +, -, *, /, ., Num Lock and Enter keys.
Now that the name is invisible, we’ll take care of the icon. Right-click the folder and select “Properties.”
4- Right-click the folder and go to properties.
5. Click the “Customize” tab.
6. Refer to ‘folder icons’ and click ‘change icon’.
7- In the “Change Icon for Folder” window, scroll to the right, select the invisible icon, and then click “OK.”
There you go now you have an invisible folder on your desktop you can place it any corner or any specific position of your desktop and access it whenever you want.
