Yesterday , I tried to delete some texts which I wrote in the past days. And as usual, I used the backspace key to delete it. But there was something wrong. Because the backspace key only deleted one letter. Unbelievable. Deleting the post was like a torture. I looked at some computer settings and saw that a setting changed without noticing. (trouble: filter keys)
What are filter switches? It is a feature that you can use to control the speed of the keyboard and ignore repeated keypress action. In other words, when the filter keys are open, not only the backspace key is affected, but you cannot repeatedly press a key on the keyboard repeatedly.
For example, if the filter button is open, you cannot press any button again without lifting your finger. It does not detect.
So what should you do if you encounter this problem?
Maybe this is a problem for me, it is not a problem for another user.
If you want the backspace key to delete multiple letters at once, follow the settings below.
Turn On or Off Filter Keys in Settings
1- Click the Start menu. Then click on the settings and choose the ease of access.
2- In the Ease of Access window, click “keyboard” from the left menu.
3- You will see the “Use filter keys” setting from the right menu. Turn the switch to the off position.
Now the backspace key will delete all the letters you typed.
If you want the backspace key to delete only one letter
Turn the switch on the “Use filter keys” setting to on.
Yes, that’s all. I hope your problem is solved.
